President (Maria): Welcome everyone to the January 4th (2016) meeting of the Thomas Nelson High School Student Organization Council. I call this meeting to order.
Vice President (Tristan): SOC Seats please announce yourselves, update your attendance on the log and update the SO Matrix at this time:

President (Maria): It's time for celebrations! Let's go around and celebrate your Student Organizations! (2 minutes)

Agenda Item #1: Review of Service Opportunities/Celebrations
There is now a Community Calendar available for all of your community service wants and needs! Keep track of upcoming service opportunities through this calendar.
Speaking of community service, it is now time to celebrate your recent involvement within community service. We will take 2 minutes to share our experiences.

Agenda Item #2: Revision of Bylaws- Flowers for the Funeral Home
It has been proposed that we revise the bylaws to add in a statement that if a student is to lose a parent while at Thomas Nelson High School, the Student Organization Council will send flowers to the funeral home to offer support and care.
We will now vote on this motion.

Agenda Item #3: Winter Formal Planning: Review of Ticket Design
Tickets will be ordered through Ms. Janes this week.
Sign-ups to sell tickets will happen on our next week meeting (January 11th). We will sell tickets the entire week on January 12th.
Agenda Item #4: Winter Formal Planning: Decorations Brainstorming
Today we will continue brainstorming ideas for decorations. Please include pictures with your decoration ideas.

We need to book ASAP.
Chromebooks will set up at ticket selling tables with a Google form for students to input song requests.

What we need to determine for Winter Formal:
DJ, Decorations, , Ticket Selling Sign-Ups, \ Tuesday Newsday Advertising, Concessions, Coat Check, Sign-Ups for Decorations and Cleaning up Afterwards, CONTRACTS (You must update every year-even if you have had one in the past)
Food for Thought:
It has been proposed that we alter the name of the SOC from the "Student Organization Council"
