President (Maria):  Welcome everyone to the August 24th meeting of the Thomas Nelson High School Student Organization Council.  I call this meeting to order. 

Vice President (Tristan):  SOC Seats please announce yourselves, update your attendance on the log and update the SO Matrix at this time:

2. SOC Shoutouts (Enthusiasm Shoutouts to Teachers, Students, etc.)

Vice President (Tristan):  Treasurer will you please share the balance report.

Treasurer (Nada):  Reviews SOC activity balance Google.

President (Maria):  It is now time for New Business.

Agenda Item #1: Fall RUSH Week

1.) Spirit Day Ideas

Submit your ideas for 3 minutes.
Share out for 3 minutes.

Care Initiative one day. 

It is important to remember that we will not be in school that Monday on September 7th- it is Labor Day.

Director of Alumni Affairs (Erika): Agenda Item #2: Tailgating 
How are we going to get seniors back from last year?
What day will we have tailgating? What do we want this to look like?

Have people go back to your organization sponsors and talk to them about who will be attending from your student organizations. It is your responsibility. Contact us about who will be attending to represent your student organization on the Monday before (August 31st).

Anyone who plans on attending homecoming as an alumni is asked to fill out the following Google form:

President (Maria): Agenda Item #3: Homecoming (Nominations and Homecoming Protocol) 

Article VI (Requirements to be nominated for Homecoming)

An email has been sent out to all sponsors of Students Organizations and clubs explaining the protocol and requirements. A boy and girl will be nominated from each SO/club. They must be a senior and fulfill the requirements outlined in Article VI.

Notice: If you do not have a boy/girl senior representative in your student organization, you will not have a nominee for that gender. 

Secretary (Ciara): Agenda Item #4: Booths in the Commons
Every SO and club is responsible for having a booth at Fall RUSH. This is a time for your Student Organization or Club to increase its membership and spread its name. Make sure you have a booth in the Commons during RUSH Week (September 8th-September 11th).
